Improved work environment at Bring Logistics with user-friendly vacuum lifters
When parcels are too heavy for standard handling, smarter solutions are needed. Discover how Bring Logistics uses TAWI vacuum lifters to improve ergonomics, reduce strain, and create a more efficient workflow.
Improved package handling at Bring Logistics
At Bring’s distribution facility in Stockholm, large volumes of packages are handled every day. Around 5–10% are classified as special goods because they are too heavy, large or difficult to handle through the standard process.
Previously, these packages were manually lifted from sorting cages onto a conveyor belt for registration and scanning. Packages weighing up to 35 kg needed to be handled this way, sometimes by two people. With an average package weight of 18–22 kg, the repetitive lifting created a significant ergonomic challenge.
A more ergonomic solution
Bring was looking for a lifting solution that could reduce physical strain while being simple for employees to use. A key goal was to avoid difficult movements such as bending far down or lifting packages from high positions.
After testing different options, Bring invested in three TAWI High Frequency vacuum lifters. The lifters can grip packages from the top or side and are operated with a comfortable one-hand handle, making the lifting process quick and ergonomic.
Easier handling, less strain
Today, the vacuum lifters are used for goods from 10 kg and up, including packages that exceed the 25 kg limit for what one person is allowed to lift manually.
The solution makes it possible for employees to handle heavier and more difficult packages independently, while reducing physically demanding movements throughout the workday.
As Vachik Unanyan, responsible for the EMB and reject station at Bring Stockholm, explains:
“Now we can lift, put packages on the conveyor belt and sort them in cages by ourselves, without needing help from anyone else. Now it’s a lot easier.”
