The Packnorth Award has quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious competitions in the packaging industry in the Nordics. It highlights innovation, sustainability, and design in a constantly evolving industry!
Open for Entries
The prestigious packaging competition Packnorth Award is now open for entries. Companies and innovators can already submit their entries to the Nordic region’s largest packaging competition. This year, the competition features several exciting updates — both in terms of categories and the jury.
International Expert on the Jury
The competition is growing not only in size but also in expertise. The four regular jury members return for the 2025 edition, but this year they are joined by an international expert. Paul Jenkins, CEO of ThePackHub, joins the jury and contributes his global experience in packaging innovation. ThePackHub runs the Innovation Zone, a platform with over 9,700 packaging initiatives from around the world. With Paul on the jury, the Nordic entries gain the opportunity to be viewed from an international perspective and, hopefully, reach an even wider audience.
New Categories for 2025
Packnorth Award is introducing several new categories to reflect current trends and challenges in the packaging industry:
Advent Calendars: A category focusing on the aesthetic and functional aspects of packaging design for advent calendars.
Takeaway Packaging: Given the stricter environmental requirements, this becomes an important category covering both single-use and reusable packaging.
Pharmaceutical Packaging: From simple cardboard capsules to advanced dosing devices.
Closures: Innovative solutions in materials and functionality.
The student category “Future of the Packaging Industry”, launched in 2024, returns this year with a prize of
10,000 SEK, sponsored by AGI Media AB and Empack.
Greater Exposure for the Grand Prize Winner
The Grand Prize, awarded to the best entry regardless of category, will this year come with significantly increased media exposure. The winning entry will be promoted on all of Packnorth’s news platforms in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland — a media value of approximately 200,000 SEK, double that of the previous year.
